Recovery from plastic surgery often continues well past the typical surgical follow-up window. This course covers the physical sequelae that commonly persist, including edema, fibrosis, scarring, bruising, and disrupted pain and sleep, and how deep oscillation therapy can be used along the way. It explains how DOT works, how it differs from manual lymphatic drainage, and how to plan care across the first year of healing.

Kayla Armstrong, OTR/L, CCST, is an occupational therapist at InHands Post-Operative Therapy and Recovery. She holds a Cosmetic Surgery Therapy Certification and is certified in Breast Cancer Rehabilitation. Kayla works with post-operative patients to support healing, restore function, and improve quality of life through manual lymphatic drainage and other therapeutic modalities. Her clinical experience includes treating swelling, fibrosis, scar tissue, and radiation-related tissue changes that may impair lymphatic circulation and limit the effectiveness of traditional treatment approaches. Before specializing in post-operative care, Kayla worked in the acute-care setting, providing occupational therapy to medical-surgical, trauma, and intensive-care patients. This diverse clinical background informs her comprehensive and function-focused approach to patient care.
